Birthday Letter for Mikovmari

Dear Miko,

I am happy that you are celebrating your 4th birthday as a healthy boy.  I remember seeing you for the first time.  It was probably the longest day of my life.  My heart was both broken and happy to see you.  You were a bouncing baby boy with cleft palate.  I cried a lot because I was worried that people may look down on you as a baby… I fear that you will be sickly because of you were prone to respiratory infections.  I thought God was punishing me and Papa but we were wrong, you brought ten-folds of happiness and fortune to us.  You brought the family closer and made me appreciate even the simplest thing around me.

Just now looking at you… you have grown to become a happy little boy who loves to sing and play.  You always smell nice like a new born baby to me.  And who will not love a kid who always say mama is pretty and that you miss me even if you see me everyday.  I am excited to watch you grow each day with love.

Mikoso mama is so proud of you!  Each day spent with you is craved in my heart as a beautiful memory.  Don’t get tired of saying you miss mama or mama is pretty.  You will always let me remember how to humble myself and be happy with the little things that I have on my palm.  Whenever I see you, my heart is filled with hope.  I love you Miko! God will always watch you because he loves you just like mama and papa.

Always by Your Side,

29th of Feb 2008 — Leap Year

This date occurs only every after four years.  It leap year and February ended so bad for me.  My 2 kids have been sick for the last week of this month.  It’s hard when kids get sick.  They lose weight easily… good thing if I’d be the one to shed those pounds.

I was away from the office for 2 days too. I had to go on leave to look after them.  Spending time with my kids on an ordinary day is fun but not when they are sick.  Feeding them their medicines is sometimes a challenge.

Tomorrow will be March already.  How time flies, sooner the first quarter of the year will be over. There are so many things to look forward to this March.  I will be going to Dakak on Friday for our annual Team Celebration Program.  Everybody in the office is excited about this, including me.  This year we are holding a different program called Beach Bod. Time for some techies to show off their bodies.  MaCoPa is on its 4th year going strong and getting funnier each year.  I wonder what The Evil Council (aka TEC in our group) has prepared for the awards night.

Mid this month is what all the executives are waiting for.  Finally we are getting our 보느스 I had to write it this way hahaha or people may be coming out to ask for a portion ㅋㅋㅋ.

End of March I will gracing Singapore for an Asian Summit on OSS and BSS.  I am spending 2 extra days in Singapore and wish to get some good buys.  This is my first out of the country this year.  My last out of country travel was 2006 also going to Singapore.  What could have changed?

안녕히 가세요 이월! (Goodbye February)

Little Princess is 5 and Empress is 72

November 18 our little princess turns 5 while the empress turns 72.  Yesterday was a double celebration for two of the most important women in the family.  My mother in-law and daugther happen to have the same birthday.  Celebration is held in my in-laws’ house in Hagonoy.  It was good to see that the empress from my husband’s side is finally able to walk.  She was in bed for couple weeks due to fracture.

The good thing was the simple but joyous celebration but there is always a caviat to such happiness.  One of the princes who was out of country has been back without paying courtesy to the empress.  The prince has changed indeed.  He used to be so close to the family but suddenly shys away from the palace.   While his own princess graced this world last November 18, it still unreasonable to find the shortest time possible to grace the empress.  The happiness of the empress was shortlived upon knowing that the prince is back but has not paid visit.  This made the entire royalty sad and somewhat angered.  Even my own prince who is king in our own palace is saddened with what happened, even prompted to go to his sibling’s house which happens to be near our own kingdom.   This prince is ruining our weekend huh!

Good thing we had to make ourselves busy in preparation for todays celebration of the little princess in their school.   As usual she is very happy given that paper crown and the special seat for the day.  The school party turns smoothly, the kids enjoyed spaghetti, chicken, sandwich, marshmallows and hotdog balls.  I can see the happiness in my little princess, perhaps this is one of the most looked after days of her.

Happy birthday princess marti and empress mana.
